Before becoming an art icon of the 1980s, the New-York born Jean-Michel Basquiat was originally discovered as a street artist. Here, his visionary fusion of multicultural symbols, scathing social commentary, and frenetic graphic style is featured on a series of unique inspired skateboard decks. It was a collaborative effort between The Skateroom and the estate of the late Jean-Michel Basquiat. Basquiat’s infamous works such as Gold Griot, In Italian and Quality Meats for the Public, amongst others have been translated, tying together two complementary entities of street culture.
